Cleaning is a major part of maintaining surgical instruments. Following re processes you can follow to keep surgical tools in commission:

•    Rinsing
Surgical tools that can be reused must be rinsed under running hot water to remove any blood, and other fluids immediately.
•    Disinfecting
Rinsing should be followed by a thorough disinfecting process
1.    Enzymatic soaking to remove proteins and blood from adhering to the instruments
2.    Use a PA approved disinfectant to clean these tools
3.    Chemicals such as bleach or similar substances should out be used to clean stainless steel instruments.
